The experienced leadership team selected to guide BCCK Holding and its family of companies applies a wealth of industry knowledge and years of client insight to every decision.

R. Clark Butts, P.E., is president and chief executive officer of BCCK Holding Company and brings more than 40 years of energy industry experience to the company. He founded BCCK Engineering Inc. in 1980, NG Resources in 1992 and NG Field Construction in 2013.  In the late 1980s, Butts recognized the demand for an efficient, economical nitrogen rejection process and developed and patented the Nitech™ NRU technology. Butts began his career in Houston as a project engineer with DuPont.  Prior to the formation of BCCK, he worked with The Ortloff Corporation. He is a licensed professional engineer and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas Tech University. He is also a member of the Texas Tech Academy of Mechanical Engineers. Butts’ years of diversified experience in gas processing have earned him the respect of the industry for his technical expertise and leadership.

Gregory L. Hall, P.E., serves as executive vice president for BCCK Holding and is primarily responsible for the management of company engineering and sales activities. He has more than 19 years of engineering and industry experience and has served in various roles at BCCK. Hall began his career with BCCK in January 1999 working as a project engineer on various gathering systems and midstream gas processing facilities throughout the United States. In 2001, he transitioned to project management where he managed the installation of several full EPC gas processing facilities. In 2004, he began working full time as BCCK’s director of sales and was promoted to vice president in 2010, assisting with overall company management. Hall began his career with JBI Partners as a project engineer. He is a licensed professional engineer in multiple states (Colorado, New Mexico, Texas and Wyoming) and has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University.

Matt J. Gillis is the chief operating officer position at BCCK Holding. He is primarily responsible for the overall implementation of BCCK’s strategy for the management, operation, growth, profitability and personnel development within BCCK Holding. Gillis’ previous roles at BCCK have included various management positions in the project management arena. Before joining BCCK, Gillis began his career at Phillips Petroleum Company in various domestic and international business development and project management positions. He also worked with The Williams Companies and served in various vice president positions with responsibilities for business development and sales, regulatory affairs, operations and engineering and international gas pipeline development. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and a Master of Business Administration degree from Brigham Young University.

Benjamin K. Friedman, CFA, CPA, is chief financial officer for BCCK Holding. Before joining BCCK in 2013, Friedman was chief investment officer for Caprock Capital in Dallas, where he led the firm’s investment committee in decisions including macro analysis, strategic/tactical asset allocation, portfolio management, investment manager due diligence, private investment due diligence and portfolio/security investments. Friedman is a licensed CPA and CFA charterholder. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration, and later earned a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.

Jacob R. Pratt joined the BCCK Holding team in 2015 as the vice president of sales and business development. Prior to joining the BCCK team, he was vice president of sales and marketing for Rush-Overland Manufacturing, a portfolio company for Tenex Capital Management, which manufactures production and completion equipment for all of North America. Pratt also worked for Heatec, Inc., an Astec Industries Company, as business development manager for industrial process heaters for domestic and international applications. He has a Bachelor of Science in engineering technology and a Masters of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.

Bryon E. Cheatham, P.E., is vice president of engineering for BCCK Engineering, where his main responsibilities consist of coordinating and supervising process and mechanical engineering functions and mechanical design across active and potential projects. Before joining the BCCK team as process engineer 16 years ago, Cheatham worked at Alon USA as a senior planning engineer, where he was responsible for optimizing refinery wide operations, feedstocks and product profiles. Prior to that, he worked in a technical services role as process engineer for Fina Oil and Chemical in Big Spring and Pride Refining in Abilene, Texas, and as environmental engineer at Pride. Cheatham is a licensed professional engineer with a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Thomas A. Alleman, P.E., serves as vice president of engineering – electrical and instrumentation for BCCK Engineering and has been with BCCK for nine years. Alleman is a licensed professional engineer in control systems engineering and electrical power, and is licensed in Texas, Louisiana, Colorado and New Mexico.  He has a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri – Rolla). Before joining BCCK, Alleman worked as a systems engineer for GE Oil & Gas and a project engineer for Petrotech Incorporated.

Chase C. Johnson is vice president of construction at NGF Construction. Prior to joining NGF Construction, Johnson worked as vice president of manufacturing at NG Resources, and prior to that, he worked as a site construction manager for BCCK Engineering. He served as a project engineer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Alaska District, and was responsible for projects ranging from $100,000 to $50 million. He has a Bachelor of Science in construction management and a minor in business management from Brigham Young University Idaho.

T. Jared Shannon serves as general manager at NG Resources, where his main responsibilities include coordinating quality control, safety, material procurement, fabrication and assembly of various equipment for BCCK and third-party projects at our 40-acre site, with more than 70,000 sq. ft. of shop space. Prior to working at NG Resources, Shannon worked as design engineer, project manager and general manager for Stewart & Stevenson’s Odessa rig division, where he oversaw service and manufacturing of well service rigs and equipment for 12 years. Prior to that, he worked for NOV as an engineer in their mobile rig division. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in mathematics, and later earned a Master of Business Administration, also from Texas Tech University.
