We’re Seeking a Project Controls Specialist

We are looking for a Project Controls Specialist, who collects and analyzes data in order to estimate the time, money, materials and labor required to manufacture a product, construct or provide a service.  This person accurately predicts the cost and schedule of proposed fabrication and construction projects and performs ongoing cost tracking and schedule tracking for current projects.


Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, raw materials, equipment, and labor expenses for each project
  • Read engineering drawings and other technical documents to prepare estimates
  • Collaborate with engineering, project managers, fabrication and construction on estimates
  • Evaluate a project’s cost effectiveness and profitability
  • Recommend ways to make a project more cost effective or profitable
  • Prepare estimates for clients and business managers
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and cost reports for the duration of the project
  • Accurately evaluate detailed specification
  • Update and compare costs to the estimate during the length of the project
  • Resolve issues and formulate estimates by consulting with foremen, vendors, and clients
  • Prepare bid proposals for potential and current clients
  • Collect, organize, and analyze bid information of past projects

Required Education and Experience:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree; or
  • Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in several of the administrative areas and at the highest level of a corporation.
